When the Black Rain Fell
Stories, Myth & Nature 5:02
Lyrics
When the black rain fell and the sun did swell
As the death bells knelled,
All in pain did dwell
There the creatures crawled among the bones they gnawed
And the lives they mauled,
Sound asleep they sprawled
Through black gates they crept
Where the Lost were kept
Didn't care they wept
Wide awake they slept
Such as in a dream,
That is what it seemed
Things all felt unclean from the things unseen
From the yawning abyss arose such a thing that was decomposed
Full of life that juxtaposed all the death its need proposed
When I then turned to meet its eyes
A Godless nature it defies
From the grandeur of its size, knew my death soon in there lies
Then the black rain fell and the voices tell
Of a time beyond where the void responds
Then the harbingers of the end absurd
Softy spoke their words
Prophecies incurred
When their eyes met mine,
It was like a sign
Came a screaming whine like a wind sublime
Then the Lost awake from the spectral wake
And the chants did spake of a world forsake
That decaying thing it did howl
Like as from a world it befouled
Sent forth a call so loud and beings burst from its bowels
I saw them fall upon the Lost
Those fruitless lives that soon were caught
Heard the laughter as they stalked, and for naught the Lost had fought
When the black rain fell and the sun did swell
As the death bells knelled, all in pain did dwell
When that thing was born and then sent that swarm
All of its first born soon did feed with scorn
On the Lost forsworn, on the Lost forlorn
Yet the dead did mourn
Knowing they're hell bourne
Yet the dead did mourn
Knowing they're hell bourne
Knowing they're hell bourne
