What Is Evil

What is evil really
It is wicked clearly
And why does it merely
Hurt so many dearly

Is it meant to hurt
Is it just selfish
Is it love reversed
Or in fact Hellish

There are those who do believe
That what they want is theirs indeed
Tricks or lies or just deceive
Is justified if they receive

Is it done deliberately
Is it done maliciously
Is it done just foolishly
Is it done immorally

Could it be low IQ
Could it be done by you
Could it be indifference
To other's loving innocence

You do for you
I do for me
We help ourselves
It's all we see
I do for me
You do for you
We help ourselves
It's plain to see

What does good mean really
Is it virtue truly
And why does it surely
Help so many clearly

Is it meant to care
Is it self serving
Is it done for love
To help those hurting

There are those who do believe
That when they help they're good indeed
Save and serve or just relieve
Is suitable if aid's achieved

Could it be high IQ
Could it be done by you
Could it be sweet deference
To other's loving innocence

I do for you
You do for me
We help each other
It's plain to see
You do for me
I do for you
We help each other
It's all we see

You cannot measure evil's strength
It hides behind the devils smile
It leaves a shiver in your soul
From such a carefully masked guile
You know it's there
You feel a lack
Of an honest loving heart
It's like a shadow in the night
As when the sunlight does depart

God is love
Love indeed
Evil's not
A thing perceived
Evil is
Just God removed
An empty heart
With love refused
Reject God's love
The light is gone
The shadow left
Is evil's spawn

I do for you
I do for me
You do for you
You do for me
Evil's not the opposite of love
It's denial of our God above

Reject God's love
The light is gone
The shadow left
Is evil's spawn

The shadow left
Is evil's spawn
